About StackSmart

StackSmart helps UK small businesses find the right AI tool for a specific job, explained in plain English, with no hype.

What StackSmart is

We're an independent directory of AI tools, organised by the everyday tasks of running a business: writing customer emails, replying to reviews, bookkeeping, bookings, social posts, quotes, job ads and more. For each task you'll find one top pick, a few alternatives, honest pricing and a ready-to-use prompt or workflow so you can start straight away.

Who it's for

StackSmart is for UK small business owners, sole traders and small teams: tradespeople, salons, shops, cafés, consultants and freelancers. In other words, people who don't have time to test twenty apps and just want to know what works.

How we pick tools

  • Task first. We start with the job you need doing, not with the tool, then look for what does that job best for a small business.
  • Practical testing. We try tools on realistic small-business tasks (a real-looking enquiry, a grumpy review, a pile of receipts) and judge them on results, ease of use and how much setup they need.
  • Clear pricing. We show what it costs, including whether there's a free plan, and we note when a price is in US dollars. Prices change often, so always check the official site.
  • UK fit. We consider British English, UK tax rules (such as Making Tax Digital) and support for UK businesses.
  • Regular reviews. Each page shows when it was last reviewed, and we update picks when tools change.

Sponsorship and independence

StackSmart is funded partly by sponsorship. Sponsored placements are always clearly labelled "Sponsored". Payment never decides or changes our top pick. If we use affiliate links, we'll say so on the page.

The weekly digest

Each week we send one short email about what changed in the AI tools small businesses use, and what it means for you, in plain English. It's free, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
